Asus UL30Vt Laptop Review

Introduction:
Asus UL80Vt created ripples in the laptop market with its strong performance figures, especially in terms of the battery life (more than 10 hours!). It is  now turn for the little sibling! The new UL30Vt is very prepared to bear the performance standards set by UL80Vt. The lid surface shining and slimness of the new UL30Vt is comparable to any other laptop in its category. The switch-able graphics and the gigantic battery life, which offers the user, freedom to roam for long time without much concern for charging the battery repetitively, deserves a special mention.

Look and Feel:
Right from the first look, the new Asus UL30Vt starts attracting the viewers and this impression lasts long. Glazing and polish on the surface, well laid keypad offering smooth and effortless key-pressing, 16:9 LED backlight display and all such exterior features support the new UL30Vt in achieving its high targets in terms of looks. The nice looking laptop is provided with equally pleasing Touchpad. The gloss and the sensitivity of the Touchpad gives a hilarious experience to the user. The only concern about the Touchpad could be its button system. It has got a uni-button Touchpad, which many users may find uncomfortable to track with.

Asus UL30Vt is thinner and lighter than its big bro UL80Vt, without much compromising on the features list. This proves its configuration efficiency as well as the luxury that we are expecting out of it. The side-view of UL30Vt is simply astonishing, thanks to the ultra thin profile, which measures less than an inch! The whole exterior design is crafted in aluminum, which adds up elegance and robustness to its looks.

Processor and Performance:
The UL30Vt is built on Intel Core 2 Duo processor accompanied by other configuration figures as follows. Processor speed of 1.4 GHz and 4 GB DDR3 RAM performs substantially well with a general application such as MS Word and works alright with a game having good resolution and graphic requirements.

The Asus UL30Vt uses the Asus turbo 33 technology, which helps in integrating the software and hardware in a fashion that enhances the system performance by almost 33%.  Not only the gaming performance, but the overall CPU performance of the new UL30Vt can be rated to be on intermediate level.

Storage:
The minimal HDD offered in UL30Vt is 250 GB with an rpm of 5400. Other available storage options are 350GB and 500 GB, which operate at the same frequency i.e. 5400 rpm. The prime focus in this model; however, is on lowering the overall weight of the system. Hence, the space issue is not much emphasized.

Battery Life and Weight:
Here comes the strongest feature in UL30Vt! It is surely the leader in terms of the battery life performance. Highest of eight and an average of four batteries are included in UL30Vt, each of which deliver max 4400 mAh. A battery life of 5 to 6 hours is observed in UL30Vt, with turning on the Wi-Fi feature and setting the screen brightness at the highest value. If the chose the lowest brightness with very optimum surfing using Wi-Fi, then the battery life can extend up to 7 hours. Finally turning the Wi-Fi off with the lowest brightness value can get you a battery life of 10+ hours! Truly awesome battery performance, isn’t it?

The new UL30Vt again scores well, in the ‘weight loss’ section! It weighs only 4 lbs with a display screen of 13.3”. This shows that UL30Vt not only ‘looks’, but ‘is’ lightweight.
