Bose On-Ear Headphones Review

Bose’s On Ear headphone is the poorer cousin of the acclaimed QuietComfort Noise Reduction headphones – and that too only monetarily.

These pair of headphones, priced at a near about of $180 beat the many other On Ear headphones at least in the area of sound. The sound is better than expected considering it is an on ear headphone. Even though there is little noise reduction, there is still some. Especially considering the half price of these pair, the noise reduction quality is not that bad. The pair works averagely well when used outside while testing it for the same.

Another factor, which supports it, is the way they fit and snuggle into the pack provided for the same purpose. The earpieces fold inside and cover nearly 40% less space than the QuietComfort 3 does. The compactness of the packaging makes it a manageable affair to carry.

Alongside the bag that is provided, two detachable cables are provided. One is a 46-inch one while the other one happens to be a mere 16 inch. And this is where the problem sinks in. The headset and the provided cables make it a delicate affair to handle. It is an easily breakable piece and thus needs to be handled extremely carefully. The casing of the same is designed as such that any mp3 or particularly the iPhone can accommodate these pair of headphones. The standard plug-in that is usually available with headphones is provided with rubber padding and the padding in itself is not any larger than the plug itself and thus fits in well with the iPhone style of plugins.

Another advanced version of the same pair is provided with a microphone, which lends thee headphones to function as a headset. The microphone is an inline one and is provided with four adapters so that it is easily usable with any music playing mobile phone.

The bass line is not very strong with this particular pair and to add to it, clarity is not the best either. Then, of the lower range of the headphones offered by any company these seem a decent enough pair. Now as these are an on ear experience, if kept for long, it might be heavy and to add to it, sweaty for the ears. The ear cups are extended, are nicely cushioned, and are light and extremely comfortable.

For those that care about the brand they wear, and yet want it at a cheaper price, these can fit into the idyllic category they might want to check out. However, for those who want to hear a car rushing past them when hearing their music, it would be better to check out any other in-ear headphone.

All that can be said in the end is, at the price this is available, it is a bargain – a Bose bargain – and a bargain many people would be happy about.
