Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones Review

Bose’s In-Ear headphone with its powerful silicone-tipped ear buds, is the experience you are looking for if and only if you enjoy an over-the-top bass level. With these pair of headphones, the midrange lies easily forgotten. For anyone who likes to hear it loud, this is the one headphone made and designed for them.

These set of headphones’ ear buds come somewhere between the range of canal phones and stock ear buds. Unlike in canal phones, this pair of Bose headphones’ earplugs feels that they might fall out easily – while they actually do not. In fact, while jogging these headphones function much better that stock ear buds (the likes of the iPods) do, as they tend to not fall out. But there is however, a loss in sound quality as the ear buds slip rather than fall out i.e. the ear buds slip half way out of the ear and thus, tend to reduce the loudness and the quality of the sound.

Other than that, the design of these in-ear headphones is comparatively unique. The ear buds look like any common place one would, however as said earlier they have silicone tips that propel the sound straight into the ear canals – without using ear buds that go straight to them. The cable provided is an anti-angle symmetrical one, which ends into a 3.55 mm gold plated plug. This plastic plug is more bulky than it is usually and the only purpose of doing so simply appears to be for them to be able to place the company’s logo on it.

The ear tips, however, seem to have a lot of issues. They gather the smallest particle of dust that they can. To add to the woes, they also do not feel like they would stick on into the ear completely. Also, only one pair of the silicone coated ear buds are provided which one is bound to lose, no matter how careful one tries to be. Also, the replacements cost around 1/4^th of the price of the set of headphones. A hefty price to pay, wouldn’t you say?

In all, the in-ear headphones provide a decent sound but there is absolutely no noise reduction. So, if you are willing to listen to the scream of the child or the buzz of traffic, these headphones might provide you comfort. Again, if you want it really heavy on the bass line, these are the headphones for you.
