Review of Delirium by Mango

Launched in the year 2006, Delirium by Mango is still a hot favourite in the market. Mango is a Spanish women’s fashion chain based in Barcelona. Mango Delirium is a floral fragrance for women. This intoxicating perfume has been created by Rosendo Mateu, Elizabeth Vidal and Pierre Wargnye from the International Flavours and Fragrances Inc. (IFF). Gardenia, musk, vanilla, coconut, heliotrope, lily-of-the-valley, fruity notes, tiare flower and mandarin blossom feature in the heady scent. According to the company, Mango Delirium is definitely “more extroverted and daring” when weighed against ‘Mango Adorably’, launched in the year 2004.

The fragrance is so complex, it seems to have a little of everything and more than a couple of adjectives are required to describe its aroma. It combines exotic, fruity and floral and to a certain extent, flirty! Mango Delirium has been created for “women who want to explore their sexuality and express their power of seduction”, according to the advertisements released for the perfume. It is feminine and debonair with a freshness that is both radiant and relaxing. Delirium persuades the urban woman to be in touch her inner flame—that impulsive and sensual exquisiteness within—through its high-spirited floral aroma.

Rivalled by hundreds of other perfumes for attention from the consumers, Mango Delirium is doing very well. This may have a little to do with its packaging which is girly and glamorous at the same time. The perfume is stored in diamond-shaped bottle that bears a resemblance to a flower bud about to sprout, complete with a little fabric flower made of pink ribbon on the stopper. The fabric flower and the pale pink colour of the scent itself is what lend Delirium its girly characteristics.

Delirium is a fragrance that lasts for a really long time. It is a versatile perfume, in the sense that it can be worn both during the daytime to boost your energy and make you feel rejuvenated and also, during the night time when you want to feel sensuous.
