After a long time, HP has come up with a new smart phone in form of iPaq Glisten. The phone has a lot of features in the form of wireless options, email functionality, AMOLED touch screen and QWERTY keyboard. The phone is targeted towards people in business and therefore, has a typical corporate look like all other smart phones. The smart phone is wider in size and has a sturdy design. The phone looks solid in hand and has a great feel. The phone has soft-touch finish on the backside. The phone has a 2.5 inch AMOLED touch screen with less resolution. This makes the screen weak and therefore the text and pictures are not displayed in vibrant manner.
The touch screen is not that responsive. The screen is not fully optimized to equip with all the menus of Windows Mobile 6.5. Underneath the screen, the user can find start menu, end and talk buttons with directional keypad. The QWERTY keyboard is user friendly as it has large, wide keys with good spacing in between. The user can type at good pace on this keyboard. A power switch and switch for Wi-Fi is seen on the topside of the phone. The camera is located at the rear side of the phone. The volume controller is on the left side while a jack for head phone and port for USB is seen on the right side of the phone.

The phone has Windows Mobile 6.5 to get features like Internet Explorer Mobile, My Phone back, etc. to name a few. Email functionality is possible on this phone through Microsoft Outlook and contacts. The users can sign in for various email accounts and social networking sites through this phone. Text and multimedia messages can be used on this phone. HP iPaq Glisten has other features like Adobe Reader, MSN Money, AT&T Music, Navigation, etc. that are commonly found in Windows Mobile. The contacts can be saved in the phone book in form of email address, phone numbers, address, work related information.
International roaming, speed dialing, speakerphone, conference calling, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and 3G are some of the other features found in this HP model. The media player in the phone plays both audio and video files. The phone has 3.1 mega pixel camera with digital zoom. The camera has editing options. The image quality of the camera is average. The pictures produced are soft with dull colors.

The call quality of the phone was average. The speaker phone had disturbances and there fore audio quality suffered. The music quality of the phone was good. The 3G technology has good speed and web pages were loaded quickly. The internet browsing experience was not that good due to the small screen of the phone. The processor of the phone works well. At times, the user sees a lag while moving from one application to other. The phone has a lithium battery. The battery life is 5 hours on talk time mode and about 15 days on standby mode.
The HP iPaq Glisten is priced at $ 179. The phone is an average performer and has sturdy design. There are a lot of better alternatives available in the market compared to this one.
