Review of Olympus E-PL 1

The recently launched E-PL1 is somewhat similar to the models E-P1 and E-P2, which are Micro Four Thirds cameras. This model has a resolution of 12.3 mega pixels and a 2.7 inch LCD screen. This camera has features like in built flash, image stabilization, art filters, etc. The camera is easy to use and handle. The features are user friendly. The camera is made up of plastic and is available in colors like blue, red, black, gold and silver.  This model is well designed, compact and light weight.

This camera has all the features that DSLR camera has, yet it is handy and easy to carry.  The camera has good looks and is stylish. The bottom side of the camera has battery compartment with memory card slots. This model has BLS1 battery which lasts for approximately 500 shots. The tripod mount is also located at the bottom side. This camera can use a detachable viewfinder which can be easily fixed on the topside. The pop up button is given at the backside of the camera. There is Super Control Panel which gives easy way to make changes in all the functions and menus of the camera. The camera functions like color image, brightness, contrast can be easily changed by using the vertical slider that can be seen when the user presses start button in iAuto mode.

The feature art filters and multiple exposures help in beautifying an image. The camera has art filters, which helps in improving the image quality to a great extent. The multi exposure feature has an ability to have two images and creating a composite shot.  The zoom lens can be effectively used while recording live video and clicking still photos. The start up time of this model is 1.5 seconds. This camera offers good options of editing the photos that are saved after clicking.

The image quality of this camera is excellent. There is no issue of noise. The colors in the images are vibrant and natural. The camera gives sharp and clear images. The camera produces fine images indoors as well as at night time. Features like multiple exposure and art filters have seriously helped in the department of image quality.

The camera comes at a price tag of $ 549.  This camera can be a good choice for the experienced lot for its design, easy to  use and good performance.
