Sony MiniDV HDR-HC9 high-definition camcorder has shown satisfactory results than its older version HDR-HC9. It has best quality 1/ 2.9–inches ClearVid CMOS sensor which will let you take picture in darker ambience. ClearVid CMOS sensor is originally made by Sony itself. This sensor gives extremely best quality video with high-resolution. Eye-catching details and picture perfect clarity is fantastically captured by this sensor. ClearVid CMOS sensor will capture 3.2 mega pixel gross video qualities. Still images are captured at 6.1 mega pixel resolution. This sensor also has ability to consume less power.

10x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom is allotted in this camcorder for capturing some excellent images. The optical zoom is used when you need to take image of remote object and 10x will enlarge tiny object to object in the frame to a great clarity. 20x digital zoom is used so as to take a close-up view of the object. 20x can capture all the details of the object with super fresh quality. Pro Duo card has to be bought separately, as manufacturers do not give it with the camcorder.

Look and feel:

Look and feel of the HDR-HC9 camcorder is amazing. 2.7-inches wide screen will give you clear and wider viewing of the image. Screen is swivel and can rotate in a 270 degrees. Aspect ratio is about 16:9 and will capture full scene without cutting any detail of the picture. HDR-HC9 has touch screen, you can playback the video by touching play caption on the screen. Button on the screen is feather-touch type, hence you need not have to take efforts while pressing it. Display has a 211 pixel clarity which will give you high-definition view. HDR-HC9 is black in color. It weighs around 3.3 pounds which quite heavy.

Advance HDV format is used for compressing video. A for still image JPEG is used for compression. HDV is recognized by almost all the software so it is compatible with all the system. Battery:

Battery used in HDR-HC9 uses LITHUM battery. Status of the battery is displayed on the screen so that you can keep extra battery with yourself while you are on tour or something. Battery is removable and rechargeable. Adapter is given by the manufacturer for charging your camcorder battery.

Cost:

Cost of the Sony handy cam MiniDV HDR-HC9 camcorder is $1099. It is quite expensive than other camcorders of its type. Canon Vixia HF200 and Canon Vixia HV30 are cheaper than HDR-HC9.

Overview:

Over all rating of the HDR-HC9 is 3/5 as it is too much costly. It can be used only by professional photographer. Looking at the rest of the feature this camera can be treated as a best camcorder in today’s market.
