Whynter ARC-12S portable air conditioner is an eco friendly air conditioner, made to offer well ventilated cooling experience to the end user. This appliance features auto drain technology that recycles the collected moisture to the cooling coils to give the desired cooling effect. Also, the dual hose operation, 3 mode settings, 3 different fan speeds and left right air deflectors offer quick cooling inside the room. Furthermore, there is a dehumidifier to absorb the moisture, and a washable carbon air filter to clean the bacteria present inside the room.

Looks and Design
This Whynter air conditioner comes in a platinum finish. It is 15.5 x 17 x 31 inches in dimension and weighs around 75 pounds. The air outlet and air deflector are placed on the front of the appliance, below the control panel. This air outlet and left right air deflector ensures proper ventilation inside the room, thus keeps all the corners of the room cool and well ventilated. Furthermore, you can move this air conditioner from one room to another, with the help of the castors provided below the appliance.

Carbon Air Filter
Carbon air filter is preinstalled within this Whynter 12000 BTU portable air conditioner. This air filet absorbs all the bacteria and room odor to keep the room clean and fresh. This air filter is washable and there is another air filter provided within this air conditioner’s box. Hence, you can replace one of them, when you take the used one for washing.

Dehumidifier
The dehumidify mode can be activated by pressing the dehumidify button placed on the control panel. When you activate this mode, the dehumidifier comes into action to absorb the moisture present inside the room, thus keeping the room clean and dry.

Auto Drain Exhaust System
The auto drain exhaust system uses almost all the condensate and passes it to the cooling coils, which use it to provide you the coolness and freshness you require. This function also saves electricity and energy.

Quick Cool
With 3 different mode settings, fan speeds and left-right air deflector, you are sure to get cool, fresh air inside the room. The fan speed can be adjusted to high, med or low modes, to get the exact coolness inside the room. Also, the modes can be adjusted to either fan or cool or dehumidify.

Effortless Restart
With the effortless restart or auto restart functionality, you can enjoy the same settings, you had adjusted the night before, you had switched off the power, whenever you switch on the power button of the appliance.

This Whynter air conditioner boosts lead free RoHS complaint components, and thus is eco friendly. Also, it does not release any harmful toxins or CFC gas while in use.

Temperature Control
The temperature can be controlled using the control panel placed on the top, above the air outlet, or using the remote control provided.  There are power, mode and fan speed buttons, placed on the right side of the control panel. You can switch the appliance on or off using the power button, or adjust the fan and mode settings using the mode and fan speed buttons. The temperature can be adjusted in between 61 – 89˚F using the Λ and V buttons placed on the left hand side of the display panel. The adjusted temperature or mode settings can be monitored through the display window placed on the left top corner of the control panel. Furthermore, there is a timer button placed beside the Λ and V buttons on the panel. Using this button, one can switch on the 24 hour programmable timer feature, enabled to ease your efforts of setting the temperature and mode settings every now and then. There are two options here, auto turn on, which keeps the machine in AC mode as per the set time, and the auto turn off, which automatically shuts off the AC mode, according to the set time.

Performance
This air conditioner is designed to offer quiet cooling experience for the end user. The 12000 BTU cooling capacity, 3 mode fan settings and adjustable AC temperatures provide quick cooling inside the room. The dehumidifier has the capacity to absorb 91 pints of moisture every day. Also, the unit is UL listed; hence it saves very well on your electricity bills.

Verdict
Whynter ARC-12S 12000 BTU portable eco-friendly air conditioner is overly priced at $419.99. Though not affordable for a person with a small family and earning a small income, this air conditioner can be a good buy for the ones who wish to enjoy coolness amidst summers inside their homes.
